Anglia Rail Users Group
Anglia Rail Users Group is an independent passenger support and advocacy group which works to support users of Greater Anglia train service and other rail services across the Anglia network.
Originally created on a train in late 2017 by a service user who was frustrated at experiencing repeated train service issues and jokingly named “Greater Anglia Couldn’t run a bath”, the group’s membership rapidly grew and by October 2018 has exceeded 2500 members.
The group primarily runs out of a Facebook page which is used by members to share service issues, travel updates, raise problems, and generally vent. It also posts on Twitter as ‘@AngliaRailUsers‘.
It is administered by a team of 6 volunteers, all of who are regular commuters and users of the service, is politically neutral and open to all users of the Greater Anglia train service and other rail services across the Anglia network. Rail staff and Journalists are also welcome, we just ask that they declare themselves in the group membership application.
As well as moderating the Facebook group, the group’s administrators regularly meet with train operator management and support teams, as well as regional councillors and Ministers of Parliament.
To join the group please visit the joining page, read the group rules, then click the Facebook page link and then in Facebook click “Join”. You’ll be asked a few basic questions, we use these to filter out bots and spam users – so please do complete these as otherwise your application may be delayed or declined.
Anglia Rail Users Group is an independent group that is not aligned to or a part of the Greater Anglia operating company, Abellio East Anglia Ltd, or the Abellio group.
